Whitehorse City Council commissioned Coomes to provide a design for a new wetland and associated visitor infrastructure in this existing reserve in the Dandenong Creek valley.
The wetland treats stormwater run off from the adjacent road catchment to best practice quality and releases the water into the Dandenong Creek.
The location of the wetland was selected in order to
- ensure that stormwater run off quality is improved.
- improve existing under-utilised and relatively unattractive areas of the reserve.
- increase habitat quality.
