The site is located in Melton, bounded by Centenary Avenue, Coburns Road and the residential subdivision, Princeton Park Estate.

The development of facilities within Navan Park has been driven by the Lions Club, who were instrumental in organising the funding and construction of the rotunda, barbecue/picnic facilities, paths and pergola structures.

A large proportion of the funding for the Master Plan and its implementation came from development contributions from the adjoining Princeton Park Estate. The Princeton Park Estate was designed so that houses overlooked the park.
