Hillcroft Estate has been developed on land previously owned by the Clement brothers who are long time farmers and residents of the area. The name Hillcroft was derived from the names of the two existing properties; Hillbrow and Highcroft.

The land is undulating with a high ridge line along the northern boundary. Extensive stands of red gums dominate the site and retention of the best of these trees is required under the development approval.

The land is being developed for residential use and has large open space areas. The Lakes Boulevard links the estate with the remainder of the South Morang Local Structure Plan area.
