This drainage project involved the detailed design of 66 kilometres of arterial drains throughout the lower reaches of the Muckatah Depression Catchment, to provide a two-year level of service with drain capacities varying up to 225ML/Day.
Coomes completed detailed hydrologic and hydraulic modelling. Assessment the of flood peaks from the Mukatah and the Broken Creek was an essential component.
Also included was the detailed design for 60 km of arterial drain, involving a detailed study of the catchment features, community requirements and the impact on downstream natural waterways.
An important feature of this project was the high level of consultation with landholders, four municipalities and the various government authorities that were effected or had an interest in the project.
